How do I revert back to the previous version of Cornerstone?

Hi there,

One of my plugins called WP Storelocator has stopped working after updating to the latest version of Cornerstone. (https://en-gb.wordpress.org/plugins/wp-store-locator/)

Another pluging by Woocommerce called “Woocommerce Bookings” is also not working. It won’t render on the page at all.

Getting this error in the logs:

Call to undefined function x_get_option() in /home2/ttrimcou/public_html/wp-content/plugins/cornerstone/includes/extend/portfolio.php:31

How do I revert back to the previous version as it was working fine before?

Thanks

Hi @nadigitaladm1n,

We do not have previous version of the Cornerstone plugin and you need to contact your hosting service provider to provide you with a backup of your website containing the old version of the website.

Having said that, we will be happy to check and see what is the problem cause. We do not support conflict with third party plugins and it is outside of our support scope but we can take a look into the issue anyways to give you an idea where to start.

I suggest that you make sure that you have the compatible version of the Cornerstone and the X theme. Please go to Plugins menu deactivate Cornerstone plugin. And delete it. Then go to X > Validation menu and wait for few seconds and then get back to Plugins menu and activate the automatically installed Cornerstone plugin again.

Finally, I should mention that Cornerstone is a Page Builder and it does not have anything to do with the auto generated pages of third party plugins. That is why I am not sure that your assumption that the Cornerstone plugin is the problem cause is correct in the first place.

kindly get back to us with the result of the steps above and URL/User/Pass of your WordPress dashboard using the Secure Note functionality of the post to follow up the case if you still have problems.

Thank you.

Hi there,

I’ve deleted the Cornerstone Plug-ing and re-installed it and everything is working.

I’ve now got a message saying “Update Cornerstone to version 4.2.3” which is what I did before and that broke my Woocommerce Bookings Product Page.

It’s now reverted back to 4.2.1 and everything is working.

I’ve spoken to Woocommerce and they’ve said the error is with Cornerstone, I did a test by deactivating Cornerstone and that made everything work.

Thanks

I happened to update to the latest version of Cornerstone (4.2.3).
Submenus stopped to open and Revolution slider stoped loading. I run Integrity stack.
Reverting back to 4.2.0 version resolved both problems

Hey @nadigitaladm1n,

You only mentioned that you updated Cornerstone to 4.2.3. Did you update X to the latest version as well and still the issue persisted?

Christopher’s instruction was correct. What’s missing in his instruction regarding compatibility though is that if you update Cornerstone, you need to update X as well as they come in pairs.

Always ensure that everything is up to date according to our version compatibility list at https://theme.co/docs/version-compatibility. Please follow the best practices when updating your theme and plugins. See https://theme.co/docs/how-to-update for more details. Version incompatibility is the usual cause of such issues.

If updating X and Cornerstone to the latest version doesn’t help and if you’d like for us to check why the issue is happening so we could report to our development team, please copy your site to a staging server and give us WordPress Admin and FTP access to the staging site.

@kozkir (Kirill), please take note of that and thanks for writing in.

Hi Christian,

I updated both X-theme and Cornerstone. The result is the same - new version of Cornerstone results in broken menu and slider.

Hello Kirill,

I have checked your site and I found out that you have outdated Cornerstone version.

Could you please update to the latest versions?
Our latest versions are:

  • X theme 7.2.3
  • Cornerstone 4.2.3
  • WordPress core 5.3.2
This latest release contains fixes for several issues so be sure to check out the changelog (http://theme.co/changelog/).

After doing the updates, always remember to clear all caches (if you are using Autoptimize, WP Rocket, WP SuperCache or W3 Total Cache) when updating so that the code from the latest release is always in use. This will help you to avoid any potential errors.

Please let us know how it goes.

I rolled back to the previous version of Cornerstone to continue development, but it is now updated to the latest version for you to debug.

Ok. Now I can see that everything works as it should when I view my site in browser incognito mode. But when I see it in development mode slider and menu still don’t function.

Hello Kirill,

Since you not the original poster of this thread, kindly post a new one and please provide us with the admin details of your site in a Secure Note so that we can have a look at the site for you.

Thank you.
