Main menu - huge line height

Hello Kai,

With the X theme, you only rely on the Top Height and the Top Alignment setting:

On your site, https://therapieinhamburg.de/, it has 110px top height with 47px top alignment.

Yes, it would be more possible with less menu items to prevent them from breaking to the second line.

Best Regards.

dear @ruenel,
thanks for your reply!
the settings where the same in both websites. one is a copy of the other…
in the one with shorter menu items the problem does not show. in the other one it does.
what about changing the width for when the mobile menu appears? i tried but did not succeed.
it the mobile menu appears at an wider breakpoint the problem would also be solved i think.
btw: what is the base breakpoint setting for? what does it do? i could not find information in the help pages.
thanks again! best wishes, kaiBF 2024-04-14 um 10.02.32

Hello Kai,

Changing the width of the menu will not work either.

The only option will just be tweaking the Top Height, and Link Alignments:

Best Regards.

dear @ruenel,

thanks again. but now our communication has been lost in translation…

as is wrote, a shorter menu (shorter or less buttons) solves the problem. but this is no option, and a poor one i find.

i was referring in my last post to the width of the webpage when the mobile menu appears and the desktop menu disappears.

where do i change that?

i assumed that it would be the “base breakpoint”. that is why i send a screenshot along. you did not reply to that. i can’t find an explanation in the help pages for x.

also: even if i reduce the top heigh etc. the layout breaks the moment the main menu breaks into a second row.

thanks again! best wishes, kai

hi there, any news for me? thanks! kai

Hello Kai,

“i was referring in my last post to the width of the webpage when the mobile menu appears and the desktop menu disappears. where do i change that?”

Regretfully there is no settings for that. You will have to use custom CSS to be able to display the mobile menu on medium screens. Check out this old thread:

Best Regards.

hello @ruenel,
thanks for your reply and the css! i will try it out.
but please please please explain to me why there are settings for the breakpoints and what the base breaktpoint means! and also why they don’t seem to work. see my screenshot.
i don’t know why i have to ask 3! times. that is quite annoying i must say.
regards, kai

Hello Kai,

The Base Breakpoint setting applies to the “Hide During Breakpoint” element option. This does not apply to the header of the default X theme.

Hope this helps.

dear rue,
thanks for you explanation!
i can choose 5 diffrent base breakpoints. but only one of them in the settings. see my screeshot.
what happens if i choose one of them?
how do the elemens behave differently?
i understand that i can change the values for each breaktpoint.
but what about the base breakpoint???
also how do i change when the mobile menu appears? no settings for that?
thanks again, kai

Hi Kai,

There is no screenshot attached to your reply. If you are seeing only one breakpoint option in Hide During the Breakpoint, please share the login credentials for your site in a secure note to examine it further, including:

– WordPress Site URL & Login URL
– WordPress Admin username/password

To create a secure note, click the key icon underneath any of your posts.

Thanks

hi tristup,

please explain the options on this screenshot or give me a link to the respective help file.
thanks a lot! kai

Hi Kai,

Our theme supports for 5 different breakpoints, which are listed here. You can change those breakpoints as per your requirements.

Hope it helps.

Thanks

ok tristup,
i keep asking until you know what i want to know…
at the bottom you see a monitor (desktop) icon and the text “is your base breaktpoint”
then there are 5 icons from mobile to desktop of which i can choose only one at a time.
so that suggests to me, that this is the way i choose my base breakpoint.
am i wrong?
if not what does it mean?
no infos in you help docs???
thanks again ‍:dizzy: kai

Hi Kai,

You can ask questions till you are not clear about it, we are here to answer you. If you click any of those 5 icons and save it, that specific breakpoint will be your base breakpoint, as shown in the given screenshot.

Hope it helps.
Thanks

dear tristup,
thanks for your reply!
i was referring to the fact that i have to ask the same question 3, 4, 5 times again and again. which is very frustrating on my end!!!
so please let me know if there is info about this breakpoint screenshot in your help pages. please please.
because i still am not any smarter than before our now lengthy conversation…
so i understand now that i can change and save the base breakpoint. that is what i also wrote and assumed from the buttons. but…
what does is do or change? or make? why only one base breakpoint when there are 5 breakpoints. i know what the 5 breakpoints do. but what does the base breakpoint?
i really hope my one questions is now clear.
thanks, kai

Hello Kai,

There are 5 screen sizes and in the Theme Options, we have 4 breakpoints settings.

Break Points:
1400px
979px
767px
340px

Screen sizes:
Extra Large - 1400px and up
Large - below 1400px
Medium - below 979px
Small - below 767px
Extra Small - below 340px

Hope this makes sense.

so why this reply from you?
please let another supporter (level up?) try. i can’t anymore as the same quesation over and over again in different words.
thanks! kai
