The contrast between the active tab and inactive tabs is quite low right now. With several tabs open it takes me a second to process which is the active one.
If you look at how browsers do it, they completely de-emphasize inactive tabs and therefore the active one pops out a lot more for instant visual recognition.
@JvP, agreed. I have made a minor adjustment in that the inactive tabs are all grayed out now by default, but highlight on hover. Active tabs keep the text highlight and also have a lighter background applied as well:
