Links to page content broken

Hello Pro team,

after a long pause I wanted to work on my website again. I updated everything to the latest version - wordpress, the Pro theme and the plugins.

My website is a multisite, with 2 subdomains, one for the German, and one for the English version. I use the icon stack.

But now, the content of the single pages has disappeared. The links in the menu work, but there is always the landing page shown. It seems, the connection to the content of the other pages is lost. This happens to every page, to those with only text and to those with pictures. Looking in the backend, the code of the pages is there.

Instead of the correct content, I get the message “No suitable preview area found, This could happen when a third party plugin is overriding the content area or “The Content” is not being output by the current layout.”

So I have deactivated all plugins. That didn’t help. Then I reactivated some of them, but without success. I have emptied the cache and tried different browsers, Safari and Firefox.

Now are only “language redirect” and “maintenance” active.

What could cause this problem? Do you have a solution?

Thank you in advance for your answer.

Franz

Hi Franz,

Thanks for reaching out.
There might be some different reasons behind your issue, I would like to suggest troubleshooting the following common issue to help us to recognize the reason.

1.Theme Related Issue
2.Theme Update related issue
3.Child Theme Related issue ** if you have activated it.
4.CSS/JS Customization
5.Disabling Cache

If you discover that an issue is coming from a custom code or 3rd party plugin, kindly consult with a developer or contact the plugin author. Please note that we do not provide support for custom codes and 3rd party plugins.
If none of the above help, please provide login credentials for your site in a secure note to examine it further, including:

– WordPress Site URL & Login URL
– WordPress Admin username/password

NOTE: I would also suggest you deactivate the language plugin temporarily and check if that is the reason behind your issue.

Thanks

Hello Franz,

I tried to access your site dashboard but the given login details are not working on my end. Please recheck and send us again.

Thanks

Hi Prakash_s,
I don’t know, whether my reply is also sent as secure note. So I have added the new password to my first message.

Hi Franz,

I have checked your website and found there is no page exists. I have created one using the Cornerstone page builder and it shows the preview perfectly without any error. I would suggest you check whether the issue still exists or not. I have also found that all the plugins are deactivated and that might be the reason why the issue does not exists anymore. I would suggest you activate the plugins one by one to find which is the reason behind your issue.

Thanks

Hi tristup,

thank you, but there seems to be a misunderstanding: My content, where I work on, is located in the subdomain franzhollweck.com/de/ . I have installed, but not activated now, the plugin “language redirect”, that leads the visitor from the main domain to the German subdomain or, when the Website is completed, to the English subdomain, depending on the language of the visitors computer. But all the plugins are deactivated now. The local and global CSS and JS of the whole website is also deactivated.

And I also emptied the cache more than only one time.

Screenshot 1: Language redirect plugin

This is, what I see now, coming from outside as a visitor of my website:

Screenshot 2 and 3:
Your testpage, opened in the backend (left) and as a visitor from outside (right) with Safari (2) and with Firefox (3).

Screenshots 4 and 5:

The startpage and the “Galerie”-page show both the content of the startpage. The “Galerie”-page should show a grid of thumnail-images (buttons). Safari and Firefox display it identical.

Screenshot 6:
Childtheme of Pro activated, shown in Safari and Firefox.

Screenshot 7:
Theme Twenty Twenty-Two activated, shown in Safari and Firefox.

Please excuse the colors of the website. They are only for better differentiation of the single elements.

I hope, you can help me now.

Thank you for your efforts.

Franz

Hey Franz,

The cause of the issue is the layout you assigned to All Singluar. I’ve removed the Condition and your de pages now work.

It’s stongly recommended to learn the Conditions and Assignments feature so that you can account for assigne layouts next time.

Your not using subdomains, by the way. example.com/de is a subfolder setup of Multisite. A subdomain looks like de.example.com. Let’s use proper terms to avoid confusion down the road.

Thanks.

Thank you, Christian! You made me happy. You helped me a lot!

Hey @sirfrancis,

We’re glad that my colleague was able to help you with your issue! If you have any other concerns or clarifications regarding our theme features, feel free to open up a new thread.

Thank you.
