Layout-grid: This element could not render because it's definition is missing. You might need to activate a plugin

Hi there

We’re running the newest version of X and Cornerstone. We are trying to insert a template based on a grid element. When doing so we get the error “layout-grid: This element could not render because it’s definition is missing. You might need to activate a plugin”.

We’ve been looking at Cornerstone > Permission > Elements but there are no Grid Element to checkmark there. What are we missing? Do we need to install an extra plugin to be able to use the Grid Element?

Thanks!

Hello Julie,

Thanks for writing in! You are using the X theme and Cornerstone plugin. You have installed or used a GRID-based element and now you are getting an error. That is because the Grid editor is exclusively available to the Pro theme. It is not available on the X theme. Please check out this documentation to know the difference between the X theme and the Pro theme.

Best Regards.

Hey

Brilliant, thanks. Is it possible to one-click upgrade from Theme X to Pro or do you have a guide for this?

Thanks in advance!

Hello Julie,

There is no option to upgrade X to a Pro theme with one click. I would suggest you please deactivate the Cornerstone plugin and then you need to install the Pro theme. Please note Cornerstone is built with the Pro theme so you must deactivate and delete the Cornerstone plugin before installing the Pro theme.

Hope it helps
Thanks
