Layered Navigation element not working as expected - No toggle

When adding a Layered Navigation element from the element panel from scratch, the toggle is not present - only the layered navigation itself. This is not how it used to work and older sites built when it did work as expected all seem to be fine. But when creating new versions of this element, the toggle just doesn’t show at all - no off-canvas behavior is present as it should be.

I made a short video describing and demonstrating this as well as the work around I am using for now. But this should be addressed asap as this is not the expected behavior of the element.

Thank you for the detailed explanation and sorry for the trouble. On the recent update, we actually made a major update on Dropdowns, Modals, Off Canvas content, this are now an element of their own. What that means is you need to put an Off Canvas element first, then inside that Off Canvas you put the Layered navigation. More details provided here.

@friech, thank you. Yes, I am aware of the major updates to the elements in question. I keep up with Cory’s videos regularly and this is for sure an exciting time for the family of elements you mentioned.

First of all, your solution works (now with v4.3.3). So thank you. The rest of this reply is simply for anyone’s benefit who may be interested…

If you watched my short video above you’ll recall I mentioned having noticed the behavior in a previous site I was working on. During that build I tried to do what you are suggesting: placing a layered navigation element inside of the off canvas element. That actually produced a weird result in that it placed a toggle inside of the off canvas element. I believe this was due to that other site using a previous point release of Pro - something prior to 4.3.3 though I don’t know which specifically. The suggestion you provided did not work at that time but, as I say, does now.

All of this does beg the question though… Why does the template asset I loaded as a work around as described in the video still have the older version of the layered navigation? Just a curiosity.

Hi @simeoned,

I guess there’s some style cache that’s you are still seeing the older version of layered navigation or maybe your Pro theme is corrupted. I suggested that you reinstall your Pro theme and also go to Pro > Settings then go to system tab and hit the clear style cache button.
