Largest contentful paint element

Hi! The top of my start page has an H1 heading with a subheading. It’s only text, so I would think that the load time for this would be extremely low. Google page speed insights reacts this way on mobile:

It says “This is the largest contentful element painted within the viewport.” and then the H1 heading is marked.

How come the takes 4 seconds to load, any ideas? Could it be that I have used a font that’s being loaded from Google or any other source, or something? The font I am using for all my headings sitewide is Josefin Sans Bold.

I am wondering if there is something I could do to avoid this. I am open to changing heading font or whatever I need to do, but I don’t know exactly what this means and what measures I can take to avoid this. I have stripped down my start page from everything I can to make it very lightweight whilst having at least some of the design and aesthetics left that I want to use.

Hello! Have you been able to take a look? I am just concerned about the 2FA, if it still needs to be off.

@ruenel Hi! It has now been two weeks without a word in this matter. What is the status, have you looked at the situation with largest contentful paint? I have activated 2FA login again. Let me know if you still need access.

Hey @markusp80,

We apologize for the delay and confusion here. My colleague is unable to answer this thread and we cannot provide support because WordPress Website Optimization is a practice in and of itself and that is why we have a separate service for it called Boost. We can give you a free site review which will give the answer to your question here. Just click the FREE SITE REVIEW button in the Boost page.

The URL and login credentials are not needed because this is not a theme issue. I understand you’re using our theme and that you only have a headline above the fold but LCP and page speed optimization in general looks at a lot of things in a website and the theme is just one of them.

Even themes that claim they are lightweight and scores 100 in Google Pagespeed Insights, once you add your content and plugins, if you don’t know how to optimize, you’ll score will be lower.

Try testing out switching to a System Font, reducing scripts in your site and everything suggested in our Performance article. If none of that helps, you need to consult with a WordPress Optimization specialist or our Boost service.

Thank you for understanding.
