Language switcher in X Child Theme

Hello,
I am having issues with setting up the Bogo language switcher globally on my home page. I am using X Child Theme.
Currently, it is set up in a header widget that is not visible unless the widget is opened. Also, that widget does not change the site’s global language setting, it only changes the language on that current page it’s selected from.
I have a php code for this language switcher as well, the only thing is, I don’t know how to access the php files. I am not using an FTP, I am accessing all the content through the WP Dashboard or Cornerstone editor.
Unfortunately I am a beginner and my coding knowledge is basic. I have a shortcode as well, and this didn’t work. I tried adding it into a “block” on the home page but if there’s somewhere else i should be adding, guidance would be very much appreciated.
