I have created 6 preview images on the site, which I would like to link to a photo gallery. Finally, I created the photo gallery with a modal and inside a slider. The question would be, can I link the preview image on the page based on some ID with the image in the modal slider, when someone clicks on the preview image on the website?
What I want to achieve as a result is an image gallery like the one on this website:

It is not very clear what exactly you are trying to acheive. Can you explain a bit more to understand your requirements? It would be great if you could provide any screenshot or any video that help us to recognize it.

So what I want is to link images to a slider images. If someone clicks on the image, the slider image will appear (the slider image is in a modal)

It seems you are trying to set thumbnail pagination. I would suggest using the data-x-slide-goto custom attribute and setting the number of the image you want to show if this small image is clicked. I would suggest you go through the following article explaining the custom attributes.
