Image Gallery above Portfolio item not working at new portfolio items anymore

Hello, for some reason the image gallery above new portfolio items won’t appear anymore. The slider/gallery does not show the images related to tis portfolio item since my last portfolio-post. I tried this to solve the problem:

  • updating theme and Wordpress and all plugins
  • Checked if I had any extra Java script added to the theme (no)
  • Checked the latest PHP version (is 7.4)
  • deleted the portfolio item and made a new one
  • uploaded all images again
  • tried different browsers and IP addresses

We use this theme since 2021 now and post some portfolio items through the years. We select at ‘Media Type:’ Gallery and ‘Fetured Content:’ media as well as thumbnail but nothing appears. We have tried uploading old and new images from the media library and still no gallery or slider above the portfolio item in front end.

Here is a new portfolio item that has no working gallery anymore:

Please help. We tried a lot now but no results…

For us to help you with your concerns, we need to check your backend settings. To do that, please provide the following information in a Secure Note.

  • WordPress Login URL
  • Admin level username and password

You can find the Secure Note button at the bottom of your posts.

We created a test portfolio item, selected Gallery as the media type, and uploaded random images. This seems to be working as expected, with the images displayed in the gallery (see secure note).

How did you upload the images in the portfolio item?

We just upload images to the portfolio-item (add to the content). When I upload images to the portfolio item you created, they don’t show up in the gallery. How are we supposed to add the images to the gallery?

You have to actually upload the images, not just select them from Media > Library. Placing an existing image in the Text editor will also not work. Only images that are uploaded or attached to the post or portfolio item will be included in the gallery.

Please check the secure note for the list of images that we uploaded to the portfolio item.

Uploading new images works. THANKS! The only question my client has left: in what order does the gallery show images? (order of uploading-date/time or name of the image or…)?
