I got a problem about permalink when I transferred my website from localhost to my Linux

Hi, there.
i got a problem with the permalink when I transferred my website from localhost to my Linux.

Firstly I set up the permalink in Wordpress by using $postname (in my localhost).

After that, I transferred to my server and used “All-in-One WP Migration” to transfer all information. Everything looks good, but the permalink has changed to “$postid” and some links as the hyperlink (#postname) are broken.

Then, I try to change the permalink setting to “$postname” the first page is oK, but all pages are broken (the menu link and hyperlinks). and when I try to go to Pro>content it’s broken as well. what can I do?

Hi @fhtpsu,

Perhaps you need to update all the URLs from the localhost URL to the new URL of the site. Please install the Better Search Replace plugin then do the following:

search for http://oldurl.com and replace it with http://newurl.com and
search for http:\/\/oldurl.com and replace it with http:\/\/newurl.com

Replace example.com with the domain name of your site.

Let us know how it goes.

Hi, Jade.
I try to do as you told me but it’s not working, pages, hyperlinks, and Pro > content still is broken.
When i set up the permalink to “plain” or $postid,
the URL of Pro > content (it’s working)

http://192.168.200.15/newfht/?cs-launch=1&cs_route=content

the URL of the page that link by menu (it’s working)

http://192.168.200.15/newfht/?page_id=410

the URL of the page that link by hyperlink (it’s broken)

http://192.168.200.15/academic-programs#academic-facilities

And if I set up the permalink to %post_id%/%postname%,
the URL of Pro > content (it’s broken)

http://192.168.200.15/newfht/pro/#/content

the URL of the page that link by menu (it’s broken)

http://192.168.200.15/newfht/academic-programs/

the URL of the page that link by hyperlink (it’s broken)

http://192.168.200.15/academic-programs#academic-facilities

Please help me, I don’t know how to fix.

this is a result that I got when I did search and replace.

Hi @fhtpsu.

In that case, please provide us with the admin access to your site in a Secure Note:

To know how to create a secure note, please check this out: https://theme.co/docs/getting-support

Hi @jade
Can you remote to my computer via team viewer because my website did not public in WWW. It’s still in the intranet of the organization. Is it possible if you remote to log-in to my website via TeamViewer.

I really need your help. :sob:

Hi @fhtpsu,

Unfortunately, we do not offer that kind of support since this is something that you’re setting up locally.

Although, please note that migrating site goes beyond the scope of our support not unless the theme or cornerstone is not working in the initial installation on your website.
