I downloaded ethos demo theme and use the code given in one of the forum to successfully convert the home page from the default index blog to a static home page with ethos header and slider.
The challenge I have now is the inability to change the colors of the header to my brand colors.
I was able to identify the header color code using firebug extension, but when I change it to the hex code of my brand color there is no response on the page although when I hover on the new hex code there is a change of color.
When I copy and paste the new code on additional CSS section or Global CSS there is no change.
Hey Raymond,
The Ethos stack has an option to change the Topbar and Navbar background color so you don’t need custom CSS. You can change them in Theme Options > Ethos.
If the said options doesn’t work, that means there is something conflicting with it in your site. It’s most probably some other custom CSS code. In this case, you should temporarily remove all custom CSS in your site to quickly check if that is true.
Also, the Ethos stack is a dark theme so you should not use light colored backgrounds for your header, footer, and sidebar. If you want a light-colored theme, please choose Integrity. Or better yet, upgrade to Pro so you have design freedom for your header and footer. Check out more features of Pro here https://theme.co/pro
Please also keep in mind that we do not provide theme customizations and that includes reverting Ethos stack colors. With that said, we do not give custom codes as part of product support. We may instead provide a little guidance to help users get started.
Hope that helps and thank you for understanding.
That’s help a lot and thank you for pointing out the prefered darkish colors of ethos theme. Everything is much clearer now.
The only remaining small snack is that the option to upload my logo is not available under customisation and identity. I don’t know if it is ok to ask it her or create another title since it is unrelated to the current title.
Hey Raymond,
Glad to hear that helped.
Regarding the logo, you can configure it in Theme Options > Header. For more details about Header Options, please see https://theme.co/docs/header
The Customizer including the Appearance > Customize > Site Identity part is from WordPress and it’s used to add Favicon to your site and not the logo.
Hope that helps.
Thanks Christian, I was able to find it and put my logo.
Have a blessed day
