I added the site template ‘Education’ and I cannot see how to edit the sidebar that is there.
This would normally be a header I guess but none is there.
I have also looked in the widgets and sidebars in WordPress and nothing there either.
I cannot find any previous forum posts on this.
Can anyone help, please?

In the Education template, the Navigation is shown in the left sidebar menu. If you are trying to point out that, you can change the Menu from Appearance > Menus, and you can change the style by using the custom CSS code. If that is not the case and you are trying to point out something else, please provide any screenshot marked with the section or any video that helps us recognize it.

The settings for that are in options.
I think it is better to just make a header.
Can I remove that by removing this part from the glocal CSS?

It just seems impossible to customise it.
I also have this text displaying ta the top and I have no Idea how to get rid of it!
I think I am better to just start again and not add any templates!

The text you have mentioned can be removed through the Theme Options > Headers > Logo > Text as shown in the given screenshot.

I have worked out what adding a template actually does!
It is pretty tricky for anyone to edit a site after adding a template, without a fair amount of knowledge of CSS.
