How do we get the SVG code for logos? Modern Sliders Logo Carousel

Hi Support,

How do we get the SVG code to use in the Modern Sliders Logo Carousel?

Following other threads:

I have opened the svg file using a text editor. (I converted the file to .svg from a .png using illustrator)

I’ve copied the code and pasted it into https://www.svgviewer.dev/ and clicked optimize to get it into one line.

Then I have pasted that code into the JSON being careful to use single quotes ’ ’

But it isn’t working. I’m guessing because I can see there’s no “viewbox” in my code and also the route folder doesn’t appear on your code but it does on mine.

Any help would be appreciated

I’ve been trying to figure this out but still unable to.

In illustrator I got a different result when saving the image and embedding the file rather than linking the file.

This makes the image valid when copying and pasting into SVG Viewer. But the code is nearly 4000 lines long. I cant get the code to be as short as your code in the template examples.

After optimising to inline and pasting into the json it didn’t work and broke all the logos in the carousel leaving it blank.

Yes thats the thread ive been following but I"m getting lost on steps 5 and 6 of his explanation where he says:

Alter the viewBox settings in the SVG till they are right
Alter the “height” and “topPosition” settings until they are right.

I’m not a codder at all and i apologize for that, im doing the best i can and searching everything so as not to bother you guys if possible.

What does he mean when he says "until they are right?

Could you give some guide lines?

I’ve been stuck on this for a few days lol

The problem I have is that I don’t understand the variables, so when i change one, and it doesn’t work, i may try another or change the original back before trying another. Nothing seems to work so i’m getting a bit lost and don’t know where i’m going wrong or right lol.

I appreciate the ‘out of the box’ sliders but a bit of guidance on how to change them would be appreciated as its a bit more complicated than out of the box for non coders like me. If there was a video tutorial on how to edit them that would be great.

Thank you very much.

I see that there are also a lot of forward and back slashes that are different from the original svg I posted.

When I add more svg logos myself, do I just copy the places you’ve added them in? Was that the reason I couldn’t get it to work?

EDIT:

Using your version of the AVON logo works for me.
If I try on a different logo adding the optimized code directly from SVGViewer, it doesn’t work.
I’ve tried modifying the code to match yours by:

a) putting a \ backslash before every " and / but that doesnt seem to work.
b) I’ve removed the width and height data
c) I’ve tried adding spaces between the / to make it \ /
d) I’ve tried adding spaces to the " to make it \ "
e) then ive tried removing the spaces

I’ve tried refreshing everything incase it was that.

Here is the next logo I’ve been trying, I cant see where I’ve gone wrong compared to the AVON example you posted. I’ve got 18 logos to add so I cant keep asking you guys. Is there another step I"m missing?

Hi Edward,

I have checked your SVG code and found that the ” is used in place of " and that is why it is not showing the KFC logo. I have rectified it and found the logo is showing correctly.

One more question if you don’t mind. I’ve been trying different online converters but can’t find one that preserves the logo colours. They all change my logos to black. I can see in the code of the example logos there is colour information.

eg.

path fill="#231f20" - from the mastercard logo

Did the guy making the videos insert that code himself to color the logos or is there a specific site he used to convert the logos?

Also I just noticed that when I hover over your logos they show as being part of the Figure but my logos show as RAW Content. Is that ok?

Ok I think I’ve finally got this down. Thought I’d do a step by step conclusion for anyone else searching for the answer.

Look for the colour .svg logo you need on https://freebiesupply.com/ and download a logo pack, it will have a .svg in it. (or similar website)
If you can’t find the logo you need you’ll probably have to convert a png and have it black and white using https://convertio.co/
Open the .svg using a text editor
Copy everything between the <svg /svg> tags
Paste it into https://www.svgviewer.dev/
Click Optimize to make it one line.
Copy and paste it back into your text editor
Delete the width= and height= (you can do that is step 6 if you like)
Using the Find & Replace function, in this order:

A) Find “ and Replace All with " (there might not be any)
B) Find /and Replace All with \/
C) Find " and Replace All with \"

Back in the JSON - Copy and paste all of your svg code in between the "" on the svg line.
Adjust your height and position top as per the instructional video.
Have a massive beer, you deserve it.

Alternatively, why not just add an SVG plugin to WP and create a custom post type that you can lin to the slider? Far fewer steps, easier to update and change, expand the CPT as necessary for any additional information that you may require in the future. That’s what I did for the bottom of my site and for 3 or 4 client’s sites.

Ahhh. I did instal an svg plug-in but I only tried adding the url of the image to the json and it didn’t work.

I didn’t try adding a it to a custom post type though.

I’d be interested to know more about it.
