The single layout builder is only available with the Pro theme. Goind back to your question, it is best that you contact the creators of the 404 plugin that you are using. They should have a documentation that explains how you can easily use the plugin.
If you are using our Themeco 404 plugin, any custom page can be assigned as your 404 page.

The issue with the X not displaying was caused by the Admin Menu Editor Pro plugin. I have temporarily disabled the plugin, and the X is now visible on your dashboard.

Awesome! I see it now. Installed & Activated, but it’s still not working. It’s not going to the staging site Homepage, it’s going to the current live site Homepage, which is wrong. How do I fix this? Thanks!
I even made a brand new page on the staging site and selected that page, but it still went to the live site homepage. What’s going on? Please help. Thank you.

I suspect that’s how the WP Staging plugin works, that’s why it is redirected to the live website. Also, you cannot see the homepage for your staging if you are not logged in. Once you push the staging data to live, it will work perfectly.
