How do I style posts (articles)?

Newbie. I have been learning both WordPress and Themeco X Pro for the past three weeks. I get the different main parts like menus, headers, footers, pages, and posts. I can style any of those – except I cannot figure out how to style/design the posts.

I am using posts as articles that a client-user will create & manage and will appear on the site. I figured out your loopers and fullwidth display, and have the loopers working on a couple of pages just fine.

Here’s my issue: when you click on something with a post link, a page comes up with the correct header and footer, but the content area looks like a standard WordPress blog post. I need to style (customize) that. However, I cannot find out how to do that in your system! There is nothing I can “Edit with Cornerstone.” Very frustrating, and the help docs say nothing explicit about styling posts. Obviously, I’m missing something in my understanding. Help! Thanks.

Hello @Barango,

Thanks for writing to us.

It seems that you want to style and edit the post content through the Cornerstone page builder. I would suggest you go to the WordPress Dashboard —>Cornerstone —>Settings —>General —>You need to enable the builder for the Post.

Hope it helps
Thanks

Just a caution… editing blog posts with any page builder is not any sort of ‘best practice’ - You’re far better off creating layouts for your posts and pulling in content from the native WP editor. If you ever transition to another theme, you will then not have to reenter all your post content or strip out all sorts of custom formatting code that all builders add.

After 3-4 days of searching for answers, I JUST found the video on Layout Builder: Single Templates. I think that is best practice, as @dabigcheeze mentions. It seems to be working all right for now. Ugh - finally!

Hey @Barango,

It is good to know that you have figure out how you can use the Layout Builders. For more informations, you can check out our documentation and our Youtube playlist:
