Not sure if this will be related to Beta release, or in general, but for some reason when you place an iPad in horizontal position, it showing content based on the second breakpoint (laptop icon) I’m aware iPads and tablets in general have greater resolution nowadays, but in my case, the navigation that I’m working on it’s simply too wide for an iPad but okay for a laptop.
Unless the representation icons for breakpoints needs to be adjusted?
It can be confusing, indeed. Breakpoints are solely based on pixel width, not device types. But I don’t think there is any other way due to the overwhelming variety of device sizes. There will always be bleeds.
I think custom break points were announced for some of the future updates.

Hope you’re doing well. It was great to meet you in London last week! Thanks for bringing this up. Yes, it’s a bit confusing because there are actually multiple sizes for iPads and tablets in general. The pixel values have been part of the theme since 2013 when it was developed. We can’t change them without breaking many sites, but in a future update we hope to solve giving users the ability to customize the breakpoint sizes for each of the icons (XL, LG, MD, SM, XS).

Yes! We definitely want to allow breakpoint values to be set in Theme Options, but that will involve some serious changes that risk breaking existing sites. The idea is that a new set of theme options will be available, but instead of using Integrity, Renew, Icon, or Ethos, you’d in a way be creating your own “Stack”. At that time custom breakpoint sizes should be possible. We’re going to work on that after the layout builder.
