I did the upgrade and my front page header became unattached and it won’t attach back. Its setting are “front page is being viewed” The header that’s on all the other pages is attached to it now. It’s settings now are “Blog is being viewed and post type is post and post type is post”. I’ve tried as many combinations between header settings but I must have missed one.
I made it work. I created a template from the original header and created a new header. I assigned it to the front page and it works. The original header would not work in any configuration. Hopefully, this is a proper fix and there won’t be any more issues with it.
Hello Steve,
Glad that you were able to fix the issue by yourself. Please feel free to reach us if you have any query.
Have a great day!
Thanks
Update - This stopped working on update 4.0.10 and now no headers can be assigned no matter what I do. The global header over rides everything. There is an issue. I’ve posted this as a separate topic under 4.0.10.
I’ve noticed there are others in the forum experiencing the same and similar issues.
My settings are correct. I’ve read over the documentation on this several times.
Please look into this. It’s more than me not being able to simply assign a header.
Thank you.
Hello Steve,
Thanks for sharing the credentials. I checked your site dashboard. I went ahead to your header section it seems that it is working fine at my end.
Your custom header for the page specified.
You have set the correct condition for the Page-Specific. You set the custom header for “Bed Bug Exterminator | Carlsbad New Mexico”
If you check the page it is not oversliding your global header. The has got your custom Header. Please have a look at the screenshot in the secure note.
If I missed anything please let me know with marking screenshot, Header Name and page Name and URL
Thanks
Thank you. I really appreciate you looking at that.
When I updated to 4.0.10, that one header was the only one that remained. Then it disappeared. Then they all worked for a bit. And now that one is the only one that is back.
This is what I have now -
This is my home page header named “index”. I believe it’s set correctly. It should show at https://horizonpestcontrol.net
This is a service page header named “termites”. It should show at https://horizonpestcontrol.net/services/carlsbad-nm-termite-service/
This is another service page header named “weed control header”. It should show at https://horizonpestcontrol.net/services/weed-control-carlsbad-nm/
I can’t see them live. I’ve cleared everything and tried every configuration I can think of. I can’t see any difference in the header you viewed and the ones that aren’t showing.
Thank you again for your time on this.
Hi Steve,
The Priority of the header is the reason behind it, both the header has the same priority and that is why the Global header which is set for Entire site got priority. I went ahead and set the Priority for the header named weed control header and now it is assigned to the specific page.
Please go through the article to know more the assigning the header and the priority attributes: https://theme.co/docs/conditions-and-assignments#assigning-headers-footers-and-layouts
Thanks
Thank you so much. That’s great.
I had read that article and applied priority in different configurations but didn’t go up to 10. I thought one just had to be higher than the other like 0-1 or 1-2, 1-3, and so. Didn’t even think to go to 10.
However, I did think it would end up being something like this that is in my control. I’m sorry to bother the forum with such stuff. I know you guys are busy.
Thank you again.
You are most welcome Steve.
Happy New Year!!!
