We have a new header we have created. We have tried to assign this as entire site condition and removed that condition from old header. Tried changing priority so higher number on old header tried system cache clear under settings for cornerstone. We have tried clearing all cache doing edits on incognito browser, updating theme turning off WP Rocket and Cloudflare and still the issue occurs. Even when you delete the header it still displays and you can edit it again by going edit header when viewing any page and resave it. Since this now seems just related to the theme I have provided login details as a secure note for you to check. We just want the header old to be hidden the header 2024 to display. Note we have never had this issue on any of our other sites which built probably over a hundred sites over the years hence don’t often require support as such a good theme.
Hey Jay,
Thanks for reaching out!
If you have already deleted the header and still showing it on your frontend, this issue has something to do with the cache. In your Cloudflare, you can try to put it into development mode.
Hope that helps and let us know how it goes.
As mentioned Cloudflare Proxy is completely off now, you can tell by looking at SSL now is just using CPanel no Cloudflare SSL which occurs when it is active. Hence turned off WP Rocket Cache as well and not sure of the issue.
Hi again, I see the header is removed for some reason, and the new header is not live(Header 2024) even though it’s assigned to the entire site.
I had to put the website to under maintenance mode but could you look into this asap please, as we are losing traffic.
Hi Jay,
I have investigated the Header and found that it is already assigned to the Entire Site, which is why it is showing.
Thanks
Hello Jay,
It generally happens due to cache, I checked your header settings and you have set for the entire site on your header assignment conditions which is correct. It seems that it is an issue with the server cache I would suggest you please contact your hosting provider to purge all the cache from the server.
If it doesn’t work for you I would suggest you please create another custom Header set it for the homepage and recheck it.
Thanks
Yes as stated at the start have removed WP Rocket Caching, switched off Cloudflare caching, turned off Redis cache even deactivated and deleted WordFence tables. I have checked the SQL table directly and it seems to have the conditions all saved as well for displaying yet the new header doesn’t display. I have restored the site back to when old header that was displaying with same settings since having no header on site we had to put in maintence. Please can you fully investigate this issue.
Hello Jay,
Can you please give us the updated WP details? When I log in using the provided details in your previous reply, it does not work for me.
- See the screenshot in the secure below
Thanks.
Hi there
I have activated the grace period so you can now login. Thanks.
Hi guys, similar story here.
I have two headers:
- « Main header » assigned to the entire website and when front page isn’t viewed with a priority of 0.
- « Home page header » assigned to the front page with a priority of 5.
My problem is that the homepage header is showing on some archive pages it should not be on. I tried to play with the priority and force the main header with conditions to show up on the problematic pages, and unfortunately I still have the problem.
The most surprising thing is that even after deleting the Home page header, Cornerstone proposes me to Edit Header and if I do it and save it, I get it back in my Cornerstone Header list.
I have no cache plugins enabled and no server cache. I tried to change the permalink structure and disable/enable custom permalinks and ACF, but doing it brakes completely my « Guide Layout » and gives me a blank page with the following debug line.
Notice : No template found custom/wp-404 in /…/public_html/wp-content/themes/pro/framework/legacy/functions/frontend/view-routing.php on line 75
I successfully restored the database so it’s not the end of the world, but I hope you’ll be able to help us on this header story which is not an isolated problem.
Thanks in advance for your time and your answer,
ps : please tell me if I should create a new topic for this similar problem.
Giovanni,
Hello Jay,
I was able to log in and check your custom headers.
- Header (Old) => Assigned Site Wide with a priority of 99
- Header 2024 => not assigned
- Header 2024 (test,do not touch) => Assigned to Roofing page ONLY
Based on the above information, your old header will always display.

Best Regards.
Hi there
Sorry I was editing the header while you did the check.
I’ve assigned the Header 2024 to entire site now, however the home page is still showing the old header. (Other pages seem to be fine now)
Please investigate this please. Thank you.
Hello Jay,
You are using Cloudflare. Please log in to your Cloudflare account and purge your site cache first before testing the site again.
Cheers.
Hi there
We’ve done that already, the issue exists.
Hey Jay,
There might be a plugin conflict with your website which is why you cannot delete or unassigned the header, it is similar on this thread Header can't be unassigned or deleted. That being said, I highly suggest that you do plugin conflict troubleshooting.
Hope that helps.
Hi there I found a quick workaround.
Change the old header to be exact the same as the new one so at least it shows correctly.
Will investigate plugin conflict in the future.
Thank you so much for your help, this can be closed now.
Hey Jay,
You’re most welcome!
