Header can't be unassigned or deleted

Hi guys,

I have two headers:

  • « Main header » assigned to the entire website and when front page isn’t viewed with a priority of 0.
  • « Home page header » assigned to the front page with a priority of 5.

My problem is that the homepage header is showing on some archive pages it should not be on. I tried to play with the priority and force the main header with conditions to show up on the problematic pages, and unfortunately I still have the problem.

The most surprising thing is that even after deleting the Home page header, Cornerstone proposes me to Edit Header and if I do it and save it, I get it back in my Cornerstone Header list.

I have no cache plugins enabled and I also tried to change the permalink structure and disable/enable custom permalinks and ACF, but doing it brakes completely my « Guide Layout » and gives me a blank page with the following debug line.

Notice : No template found custom/wp-404 in /…/…/public_html/wp-content/themes/pro/framework/legacy/functions/frontend/view-routing.php on line 75

I successfully restored the database so it’s not the end of the world, but I hope you’ll be able to help me on this and particularly on this header story.

Thanks in advance for your time and your answer,

Giovanni,

Hey Giovanni,

Thanks for reaching out!

I’ve checked your website but I am also experiencing the issue when I do the testing. It might be that the database is corrupted. Would you mind sharing more information why you restored the database?

Well, before reaching out support for some unanswered problem, I always try to deactivate all plugins to check if one of them is responsible of messing up my website.

So I deactivated Custom Permalinks and ACF Pro ; then I reactivated ACF and I realized that my Custom post layout was broken. The only way to get my layout back was by doing a D-1 database restoration.

Before that day, I never had to restore the database on that website.

I finally decided to restore my website database from an older date before I installed and tried Jetpack Search and Relevanssi.

No more issues regarding custom posts that didn’t want to show on the front end, so I think one of these plug-ins did something wrong.

However I still have that header problem that shows up where it shouldn’t.

Hey @Giovxiii,

Thanks for providing your details and more information. Upon debugging your website and with the help of our main developer, we suspect that the header is corrupted that’s why it is not working properly. That being said, we highly suggest to rebuild the two header.

Thank you.

What do you mean exactly by rebuilding the two header ?

I created a new one with the templates available, assigned to the entire site, and unfortunately it won’t show up on the problematic pages.

I finally found a way out. I decided to erase the taxonomy terms where the wrong header was showing and I recreated them.

I think the problem was caused by a plug-in I installed or some custom post permalinks I decided to change. I will be cautious in the future.

Thanks for your help !

Hey Giovanni,

It is good to know that you have resolved the issue already.

Cheers.
