Header not appearing

Hi,

I’m trying to create a header but it’s not showing up on the page and I can’t figure out why. I’ve assigned the header to a page, I’ve assigned the page a header, I’ve compared this page to a successfully headered page but I can’t figure out the problem.

Additionally, when trying to follow this tutorial from Themeco, there no longer appears to be the layout option to position the menu bar underneath the hero in the current version of Cornerstone (or has it moved?)

Assistance would very much be appreciated,

Thank-you,

Natasha

Hey Natasha,

Thanks for writing in!

No header will display because the “Calgary Carvers” page uses the “Blank -No Container | No Header, No Footer” page template.

You will have to change the page template to “Blank - No Container | Header, Footer” page template. For more details about the different page templates in the theme, please check this out:

Best Regards.

Thank you so much.

My second problem now is… why is the font so huge in my menu? I’m trying to figure it out but there must be an obvious setting I’m missing.

Hey Natasha,

I don’t see a menu in any of you pages. Please provide the link to the page with menu and also provide a sceenshot of the menu.

Thanks.

If you look here, the fonts are so large, you can only see the very tops of the words (for example, what this is trying to spell out is ‘Who We Are’):

Hello Natasha,

You will have to change the font size of your Bar element from 16em to 16px only.

Best Regards.

Thanks. That helps a lot.

I’m having some gap and menu issues. The mobile view appears different than it has before from sites I’ve built with pro:

I’m not sure why there is a white gap between the slider and the menu bar (or between the slider and the top of the screen) and I’m not sure why the menu is appearing vertically in text rather than a burger menu linking to a slide out menu?

When I tried to set that up, I didn’t see the same options.

What I see on this current site:

What I see when I inspect the element on which I have a burger menu for mobile view:

Also, on desktop view, I get side gaps on rows like this:

I’ve looked through the various layers to see if there were any Global Container boxes unchecked but it is unchecked. However, those white side gaps still remain on the Row level.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you so much.

Hello Natasha,

Please go to Cornerstone > Theme Options and switch between stacks. The Blank and Starter stacks are best if you are already familiar with the theme and have a mock layout and custom CSS that will be added to the site. For usual sites or for anyone just starting to get familiar with the theme, it is best to use the other 4 stacks.

Best Regards.

Not cool. I found that response condescending, assumptive, and lacking. I did not want to use one of the four other stacks as I do not want to use the styling that comes with them and I don’t know how to remove some of that styling that is built into those stacks.

However, I would like to know how to fix the gap issues and the menu issues. I am familiar with Pro, I’ve built a site with it before this, but there have also been some changes in the GUI between the current version and what’s presented in the documentation as well. I don’t think I’m asking unreasonable questions or questions outside the scope of this theme. What I want is to custom style a site and I don’t see why I have to rely on a stack with preset styling and features I don’t like. Is there nothing in the documentation that covers making mobile menus in Pro (like that burger menu with a slide out menu) or fixing these gap issues?

Hello. Is there an answer to my questions? I have experience with Pro, I’ve built a site with it before. I would like to know if there is a way to build a hamburger menu manually for mobile and how to address these gap issues. Otherwise, I can’t really proceed.

I have invested nearly $1000 into your theme. Right now it feels like because I don’t want to switch stacks due to the built in styling, I’ve been passed over for support and that is very frustrating. UPDATE: I’ve switched to the stack Integrity but I’m unable to get headers to load in cornerstone. Switching stacks didn’t address either of my issues (the gaps or hamburger mobile menu).

Hey Natasha,

Please watch this Menu building tutorial https://youtu.be/zgAMBLRxG_w?si=dWvhhc_ljEOvlMDn

Kindly ask one question per thread. Also, post your login info on each of your threads. This is to avoid confusion and delays.

Post the gap issue in another thread and provide details where we can see it.

Thank you.
