Header jumping

My site has a new problem with the header. The header has always been configured as follows:

  • The logo appears at the top when you’re at the very top of every page.
  • The menu navigation is in a separate bar below it.
  • As you scroll down, the logo bar disappears and the menu navigation remains.

Recently, this started “jumping”. As you’ll see in this video, a black area briefly flashes half way down the page as the logo bar is disappearing:

How to fix?

I’ll provide login details in a secure note.

Hello @capodanno,

Thanks for writing in! I have inspected your site and it turns out that you are not using the latest version of the Pro theme. Please make sure to update your Pro theme to Pro 6.2.9. You can check. the changelog here:

Best Regards.

I updated to Pro 6.2.9 and things got much worse. the site looked normal at first, but upon scrolling down, this is all I could see:

I am currently working on restoring the site from a backup and/or downgrading to 6.2.1 that I happen to have downloaded.

I will look forward to a fix in the future. For now, I have removed the admin access details I gave you yesterday, as I don’t want you to get in the middle of the restoration process currently in progress.

Thanks!

Hello There,

It is best that you clone your site to a staging site. You can do the updates in the staging site and we can also do the troubleshooting of the issue in the staging area. Once we solve the issue, you can proceed to update the live site.

Cheers.

I have set up the staging site, and will provide login credentials in a secure note.

After cloning, I upgraded the theme from Pro 6.2.1 to 6.2.9. You’ll see that the same problem is happening, as soon as you scroll down, the menu is the only thing visible on any page.

I look forward to your assistance, thanks!

Hey @capodanno,

Thank you for sharing the credentials. Upon checking your setup, you had given the Bar 2 100% height which was causing the problem. I just changed it to Auto and this seems to have fixed the issue (see screenshot)

Hope this helps!
