Font awesome SVG number of files

Hello guys

There is a thread here regarding the size of the font awesome packs, which is considered kinda HUGE.

Font Awesome version and features in Pro

The version of Font Awesome in Pro is based on Font Awesome 5 Pro, right? Are there plans to update the integration to include all the additional icons and icon styles that have been released since? There are other cool features like the duotone icons and the (currently in beta) icon wizard.

Well, this is not really the problem, as the webhosts offer more and more space.

The problem is the file number. And here this is a much bigger issue, especially with webhosts, which limit the file number to like 180k or so.

Is there a way how to limit the number of the svg files? Like install the packs on demand? As you stated, most websites use like 10 icons max. The installed packs are like 30k files?

EDIT: I guess, turning the Font Awesome groups like “Solid”, “Regular…” in the theme options, does not reduce the number of files on the server, right? It just limits the choice in the editor?

Unfortunately, there are no options to limit the SVG files to load right now.

Sigh… this would be really helpful especially with my other problem with the staging site…

The point is the pro theme with all the bells and whistles has itself a huge number of files. With some additional plugins, the WP installation becomes a behemoth. And if you have a limit like max 180k then a staging site sharing the same host is a problem.
