Featured Image Location as size

Hi, my client would like to use a full width horizontal layout for category pages, but we would like the featured image to be to left of the content not full width as it puts the text below the fold

Thanks for reaching out.
You can select the Ethos stack from the Theme Options > Stack which has the layout for the Blog or Category which you are trying to achieve.

If you want the layout only for the specific Category, I would suggest you use the Layout Builder to create a Layout that you are expecting or you can select from any predefined templates and assign it to the specific Category.

Don’t worry have managed to is use CSS hero, strange it wasn’t working in the theme though
