Feature requests: maps element, revisions and gallery

Things to think about for future roadmap… I have been playing around a little bit with the “Breakdance” builder and there a few nice things it has that I think Pro could benefit from. These are just a few of the interesting features I’ve seen:

Google maps element
The maps element for Pro is a bit limited in that it can only receive LAT and LONG info as the data source. In the Google maps element for Breakdance it is possible to input a street address. See this demo video where he is able to set up a map based on a street address text field from ACF:

Gallery element
There isn’t one in Pro. Of course it’s possible to create one using loopers, but a built in gallery element is pretty much a must have for many websites.

That would make the maps element way easier to use. Another thing that would be nice for the maps element is support for other maps providers, such as Apple Maps and Mapbox, because believe it or not there’s more than just Google :sunglasses:

I was going to request a gallery element again as well. It would be a great addition to Pro. @charlie, if you guys are going to do a gallery element, please also include a new native lightbox feature.

The history/revisions panel is nice. Pro had something similar a while ago but it’s no longer there.

*+1 for all your suggestions!
*(for the maps element dont forget openstreetmaps)
*and i wanna add deeper woocommerce integration: custom add to cart form for archive page (ajax add to cart), custom qunatity input, custom filter options + Isotope Filtering (for archive pages AND also for all Layouts (posts,…)), …
*form builder
*popup builder

+1 for a gallery element that works well with acf gallery loopers, and especially something that creates nice masonry style layouts and lightbox. I’d love to see a Themeco approach to a gallery

Google maps element
Street address input would be a great addition. I can look at other providers as well too. There’s a backlog item for getting maps to work with Loopers so out of the items here I’ll probably be looking at this one first.

Gallery Element
I think we could get a “prefab” for this or utilize parameters for something like this. Similar to the “Post Tiles”. There’s a lot on my mind for the current state of elements. Would love to break them up into better categories, get searching by categories, and add some prefabs like this. Not having an “Anchor” element has alway irked me, even if it’s just the div element with an A tag. Loving the thoughts on this one and maybe we do a more formal discussion in the future too.

Curious how Breakdance does this. Does it use the WP revision system? In general Breakdance looks very solid and will have to check it out sometime.

Code splitting would be great for our JS. Still in bug fixing mode in our libraries before that, but there’s some great gains to be had from that.

Form builder/element
This was a hot topic for the last devs. It was sorta started, but plenty of work there. This would awesome though.
