Feature Request: WPML with all content elements, mainly v2

Hi Themeco!

For me (and I guess many others) it would be very important to make all the fantastic new features like v2 elements, loopers etc. translateable via WPML.
For the first run, just copying existing pages from the first language and then changing texts manually might be OK. But as soon as there are updates in design, structure, new positioning of grid elements etc. there will be much redundant work to be done - the more languages, the more time is lost.

On the WPML-site it says

X theme now includes the Cornerstone page builder. Thanks to WPML, you can conveniently translate pages built with Cornerstone and every Elements coming with it (Last tested on: December 11, 2021).

And in themeco’s docs section, it says:

WPML is a popular plugin for multilingual WordPress installations. X/Cornerstone and Pro support the WPML plugin.

I really would like this to be - or become (!) - true.

Best regards

Uli

P.S.: As long as the above quotes are not really true, it would be fair to show clearly what is possible and what not. Otherwise a lot of time is wasted in trial-and-error and in discussing with customers why things that should be possible are not

Hi @ULinn! I am using WPML with pro from the day Pro came out. All pages, all elements, headers, footers etc are nicely translatable. Are you sure you have WPML enabled in WPML settings for everything you would like to translate?

Currently if I make a design change or layout change to one language I have to repeat that work for each other language. That’s not optimal. Is there something I’m missing?

Hi @spedney, that’s the point. Just copying the page with the flags in cornerstone works of course, but a real translation of the texts itself without touching the layout seems to be not possible (or only while using classic elements).
@Misho - did you find a way, to change layout or design of translated pages without having to repeat this on the other languages? If yes, I would be very keen to know how!

Hi @ULinn

Quite a bit has changed on the WPML end and I know they’ve introduced even better ways in their translation management system to work with page builders. There’s likely some opportunity to improve the experience translating our element content. It’s not been something we’ve reviewed in a while though, and isn’t something we’re going to explore imminently.
