Feature Request: Show/hide Sections from the Layout Pane

Hi!

My workflow to hide inactive sections is to add the class “hide” to them. I imagine that this is something many would need to do.

I propose a show/hide icon in the Layout pane. When it is clicked, the section is hidden, or even better: removed from HTML if possible. It would also indicate that in the Layout pane that the section is not visible in the front-end (crossed eye icon). The section could also be hidden in the Content builder.

Thanks!

Yes please!

Interesting idea. I can see how this would be useful when developing pages that are changed occasionally, or you want some quick and easy A/B testing. I’m a bit hesitant about it introducing a new icon, but do like the idea - it’s a pretty common pattern in design tools (like Sketch for example) to be able to keep something around but disable it visibly. We’ll keep this in mind!

And available in Divi and Avada more or less  (In those cases the content is visible in the builder but can be collapsed but is unpublished from the frontend. p.s. I don’t use those themes but have occasionally taken over projects that do.) Having it hidden in the builder would be better.

+1 for this feature…

@alexander, Yeah, another icon is not that nice in the UI.

Perhaps a right-click on the section and then “Hide”, which would gray-out the section in the Layout pane?
