Feature Request: Megamenu Dropdown In CS Navigation

Hi Charlie,

This may be a long-shot, but is there any way in which the CS Mega Menu element can be incorporated into the Navigation Inline element to handle submenus where a megamenu layout is required?

I may be wrong, but the Mega Menu element lacks the HTML semantics to act as a full-blown main menu?

Thanks,
Christopher

I’ve seen a couple of sites using the Mega Menu / Dropdown as their main navigation. What does adding in a navigation inline into the dropdown lack that you need?

What I am looking at is that in my current scenario, most top-level items are either only top-level, or have a simple fly-right dropdown submenu, but there is one submenu, which requires plenty of real estate, which a mega menu offers. This includes non-clickable headers and a range of child links.

My other worry is that the element alone is effectively a dropdown button (please correct me if I am wrong) and that building up a navigation structure with correct HTML semantics requires quite a bit of extra divs/coding to achieve a proper menu structure.

The inline navigation element is excellent and is my preferred element for desktop use (having been an Ubermenu user beforehand). My ideal is to have a pure CS solution, rather than a plugin one.

I hope this makes sense?!

The MegaMenu prefab is a Dropdown button correct. Accessibility wise I can tab through the links inside it well after a click. The dropdown control for “Inline” can also help with accessibility. Does that help with your solution? When you say semantics do you mean the Menu tag itself? I’m sure we could add an HTML tag control to the dropdown if that would help. I see what you mean when it comes to adding in the li tags if that’s what you mean by using the Div element.

That might be the solution - a bit more in the secure note.

Hi Charlie,

Any more ideas or thoughts on this, especially the possibility of incorporating the megamenu within the inline menu element?

Thanks,
Christopher
