Feature Request: Making Choosing Icons in WP Menus easier

Hi!

Choosing icons based on names only is not easy and pretty time-consuming.

Three things could improve the UI here:

  1. Create a search box so we can write a partial name of the icon for it to appear in all weights
  2. Create another dropdown that filters icons for Solid, Regular, Light and Brands
  3. Display the icons if possible, to the left of the name

Not all three are necessary. Anything that would make this process easier would be welcome. :slight_smile:

Yes, please :slight_smile:

With the current versions of Pro those are also doubled up. So I seem to have to choose them twice. Once for Primary and once for Secondary otherwise they don’t save.

@urchindesign yeah, I have checked that part with duplications in Beta. It is solved. :slight_smile:

I see that…

it is has been a pain though. I don’t often add icons to menu navigation but on a current project I needed them. Took a while to figure out why they weren’t saving.

Yeah, that’s never really been the best experience. I think if we do anything here we would look for a way to break the icon picker out of the main application to reuse in that context.
