Feature Request - Floating Panels

After building several sites with Pro 4 I have to admit I absolutely hate the new floating panels. They seem like a huge regression.

There are also plenty of people not enjoying them in the Facebook group.

The old way of allowing the panels to slide out and go full screen was a dream to work with and kept the panels out of the way when not needed,

The new panels are difficult to make full screen and are always in the way.

Is there any chance of either moving back to the old way or giving people the option of either the new way or the old way.

Yeah it is something that has been a bit hard to get used if there would be the ability to move and snap it to the side sort of like how you can move the breadcrumbs to be shown on the top or bottom.

Also I work in full screen a lot when doing css or js so constantly having to drag the windo bigger and smaller is a pain. Then it is always in the way. Either it is over my design preview or it is in the way of adjusting the element.

I hear what you’re saying. Unfortunately this is probably something that will be a while before we come back to. I think it would be pretty handy if any of the panels could be docked when open, and it would remember where you docked them perhaps.

Thanks Alex.

For me even just the option for the old way vs the new way would be great. I found the old way 300% better for the way I work. Constantly needing to drag the window bigger, drag the window smaller, drag the window out of the way is really slowing me down.

The new panels are honestly just always in my way and never how I want it.

I suppose another solution for now would be an option to maximise or minimise. So click maximise and it goes full screen, click minimise and it goes back to the size and position it was before you maximised it.

I understand. Unfortunately at this point there’s nothing we can easily just bring back in because the old code (and even some of the UI patterns themselves) aren’t compatible with the new systems. We’ll definitely keep all this in mind. We’re prioritizing some of the bigger items like responsive styling before coming back to any workspace patterns.
