I’ve noticed that when switching between modes (Chat, Text to Image, etc.), it’s not always clear what I’m about to enter a prompt for. Right now, the only indicator seems to be the dropdown at the top of the panel, and it’s pretty easy to lose track when bouncing between Elements and the different AI buttons.
A few small tweaks could make a big difference in clarity:
- Persistent mode header. Instead of just showing the mode in the dropdown, add a sticky header inside the chat panel that says “You’re in: Text to Image” (or whatever mode). Could use an icon + label for fast recognition.
- Mode-specific placeholder text in the input field (for example: “Describe your image…” vs the current “Message [provider name]”).
- Accent colors that shift depending on mode, for example: light blue for text/chat, green for images, purple for code, maybe orange for audio, etc.
- A send button that adapts to the mode (for example: “Generate Image,” “Generate Code,” “Ask Chat”, etc.).
Even just one or two of these would go a long way in reducing those “wait, what am I doing again?” moments. What do you think?
