Feature Request: "Backdrop" on Dropdowns

I love the backdrop layer on the off canvas elements, and I’m increasingly finding myself wanting to add it to some dropdowns too (to help focus attention on the content of the dropdown). It’s a pattern I’ve seen emerging in a few places.

Any chance that could be added as an option to the dropdown elements? Thank you!

That would be nice. I don’t think it would work for “Inline” dropdowns, but I can take in the request. Have a great day.
