Feature request: Add 1 column option in grid

This would be a useful QOL improvement I think. I build mostly everything in grid these days, and don’t always have the need for columns. At the moment, I have to select the 2 column layout, delete the extra cells, and set each breakpoint to 1fr.

A 1 column option is offered when using the row layout element:

Let’s get one when using the grid layout element:

don’t pick any, just add a column to the grid in the left panel

@scotbaston that doesn’t work anyway- defaults to 4col.

@liquidedge, you could simply create your one-column Grid layout and save it a preset. This essentially creates your pre-fabbed element. As soon as you start typing its name from the elements, it will appear and you can drag & drop it into your design.

Of course there are other ways to create a single column. But the “Choose a Layout” screen is to make things faster, easier and more intuitive. So I think a one cloumn-option (with only one cell / row) would really be a great idea.

@Misho for sure I could, but a one click preset is so much quicker. I don’t think this is a big ask, especially since a) there’s already a number of presets in there, and b) the old rows/columns has a 1col preset as well.

@ULinn exactly- well said.

@liquidedge, thanks for bringing this up. We’ve made the adjustment that by default it will be 1 column. That way when you do what @scotbaston mentioned and just start adding cells, you have a more pure baseline to start from. Another options would be using a Div. If you hold cmd/ctrl when clicking the + icon in the Outline, it will allow you to select a Div as a direct child for Sections.
