Feature Request: Ability to preview specific search terms on search results page

I’m building a search results page, and unless I’m missing something, it doesn’t appear possible to control the particular search term being previewed within the builder.

So, it would be handy to be able to preview different search terms while building the page. For example, after selecting Search Results in the preview dropdown, have another field appear that allows us to type in a search query. Etc.

Otherwise, I keep having to save, and jump over to the live page to enter a new term to test.

Makes sense! Tracking this on the overflow list but definitely a great idea.

We’re 4 years later - I can’t see a way to specify the search term to preview when I’m working on the search layout. Can you add this into a point release? Someway on the drop down to ask for the search page, and specify the preview search terms?

It is there… and just type something into the input box. It has been there for at least the past 2 years or more.
