Feature List and Feature Box

Any chance V2 “Feature List” and “Feature Box” elements are in the pipeline?

Thanks,
Tim

Headline V2 = Feature Box already (in my opinion).

+1 feature list

Since columns can now be saved with entire content, I find that to be even better than the standalone Feature box element.

Hi Tim,

At this time we don’t plan on making new Feature Box / List elements. Most of it is possible using a combination of existing elements at this point.

So, I see the graphic and image option in the v2 Headline however it adds a huge layer of complexity for the average user to try to figure out how to manipulate those settings with a combination of GUI settings and custom CSS. Most importantly, the v2 Headline lacks the animation the feature box and feature lists have.

I understand. For animations, we’re going to solve that in a more one-size-fits all approach in a future update by adding CSS transform controls to every element with a base and interactive (hover, click, etc.) state. This will allow you to do things like reveal individual elements with a transition when they come on screen, or change their appearance on hover.

What may help with the Headline is to save a few presets of common configurations. Now that you can just drag a preset directly into the page it will help speed up configuring the elements that have more levels of control. You can also turn off Advanced Mode in the preferences panel which will reduce the number of controls in the Inspector to one level of content, plus a few basic stying options.

It’s much nicer to have this UI for quickly adding and removing list items:

Duplicating in the builder works but it’s a step backwards in my opinion.

Then there’s the nifty connector with animation in the old feature list element.

Please consider adding that back in at some point.

Thank you for the additional feedback here. One thing we have considered is showing that list in every Column to get a view of all the contained elements. For example, Sections now show their Rows, and Rows show their Columns when Inspecting. That would help with what you’re describing because you could see all the related list elements.

The connectors is a good point as well. We’re still not planning on a new feature list, but we can circle back to the idea once we solve the animations/transitions. For now, you can always use the classic element - that will always be supported.

Alright, I hope we’ll see a proper v2 list element down the line. For those cases where you want a true list with the appropriate <ol> or <ul> markup. Can’t stand having to use classic elements anymore

 I understand. We will certainly keep it in mind. I wouldn’t expect anything in this regard until we’ve at least shipped the Layout Builder and the V2 element animation/transition feature.
