FacetWP Question

Hi,

I am trying to use FacetWP in CS for the first time but am getting some strange behaviour in the listings. I have seen a couple of helpful posts/replies on here from @charlie and @urchindesign and wondered how anyone has best been able to use FacetWP in CS with loopers?

My set up is on a standard CS page. My layout is as follows:

Section
-Grid
—Left Cell (1fr)
---- FacetWP facet shortcode with checkbox choices & datasource = CPT taxonomy
— Right Cell (3fr)
---- FacetWP listing shortcode

The listing shortcode’s structure uses HTML which is populated with a CS component shortcode. This too is a simple grid with three cells for the results.

There are no CS loopers active in this set up.

On the front end, when the page loads, I get my design showing. However, as soon as I click any checkbox on or off, my design disappears and a default FacetWP design continues. Is this normal from your experience?

Thanks,
Christopher

This is probably not a question for the beta part of the forum.

Not sure if it is helpful but I have never used a FacetWP listing shortcode. I would presume as you are using the FacetWP listing shortcode this would be expected.

Generally I use a looper. And add the class ‘facetwp-template’ on the section with the looper. The cell / div / col with the Facet WP shortcode checkboxes should not be inside the ‘facetwp-template’ class.

If I take your structure above.

Section
-Grid
—Left Cell (1fr)
---- FacetWP facet shortcode with checkbox choices & datasource = CPT taxonomy
— Right Cell (3fr) - looper provider with ‘facetwp-template’ or if archive page no provider
---- FacetWP listing shortcode (remove this)
---- add looper consumer with cornerstone layout.

Thank you @urchindesign. Yes I know the question was not best suited to beta, but the previous two questions were in here, which is why I posted here.

Your description was really helpful and has done the trick. Many thanks.

No problem. Happy to help
