Extra Scripts Being Loaded on Frontend

Hello,

I have the most recent version of Wordpress, Pro and Cornerstone. Website is https://www.bellafsm.com

I am trying to increase website performance. In Google’s Pagespeed Insights I am seeing two scripts loading for Pro and Cornerstone.

Two questions:

  1. Are scripts supposed to be loaded for both Pro and Cornerstone?

  2. Why is the script for Cornerstone called “cs-classic”? Is this legacy code? Is it because a few of my old post have classic elements? I am trying find and rebuild all older post to remove classic elements.

Best regards

I also am having a SERIOUS slowdown after the most recent round of updates at JulieLohre.com
X has always been slow even after doing the “recommended” optimization, but as of now, the site is almost un-navigable and is being impacted in search results.

Hey @jnlinn,

Yes, it is necessary for functions that need Javascript like the menu, tabs, accordion, etc…

Yes, please check our posts or pages if you’re using Classic elements.

Please note that styles and scripts are not bad, and in our themes and plugins, they are loaded according to web standards. But since every website needs are different, you need to optimize your site differently from our Performance article.

That answers the concern of @rglohre. It is possible that your site would still be slow even if you were doing everything in the Performance article. That means you need to optimize differently. We can’t take into account all of the website setups not to mention the web hosts or server setup. Our article is a general guide.

@jnlinn,

With proper website optimization, out of the box, even with the styles and scripts you’ve shown us, Pro scores almost perfect in Pagespeed Insights.

You need to know how to optimize your WordPress site regardless of themes and plugins. We’ve posted a general guide in our Performance article which would work in most cases. If it doesn’t, that means your site needs to be optimized differently. That is why we have our Boost service. In Boost, we make customers’ website fast. If you want us to speed up your site, check out the service here: https://theme.co/boost/

Thanks.
