Events Calendar installation issues

Hi,
I was trying to install modern events calendar to our website (delosdr.org) as I want to create a new events page and rename the one we have on now that is built with essential grid, however as I did it removed all current content through essential grid, which I do not want. Is there a way to solve this ?
Thank you,
Anna

Hey Anna,

Modern Events Calendar and Essential Grid are separate systems. You will need to create your events in Modern Events Calendar. If I’m not understanding the issue correctly, please tell us what exactly you did so we can answer accurately.

Please also give us the following info in a Secure Note so we could check your setup.

  • URL of your events page
  • WordPress Login URL
  • Admin level username and password

You can find the Secure Note button at the bottom of your posts.

Thanks.

Hello Anna,

Thanks for providing the information. Actually, MEC did not removed all your current Ess. Grid contents. You were having a slug conflict as soon as you enable MEC plugin. That is because your Events page is using events slug and MEC is using this slug too.

Events page slug:

MEC Slug:

To get this resolve, on of which should use a different slug. Kindly install and activate MEC plugin again and go to M.E. Calendar > Settings > Slugs/Permalinks and change the “Main Slug” to my-events.

We would love to know if this has worked for you. Thank you.

Hi thank you yes it has worked !

Would you also be able to advice me on how to proceed to create a members page - is there any compatible plugins for this already ? Thank you for your help

Hi Anna,

Please check BuddyPress.

Please note that BuddyPress is a recommended plugin, but it is not our plugin so we won’t be able to provide support for this.
