Errors while updating X

I just took over maintenance of an existing website http://planboulder.org that uses your X theme.
I don’t have any information from the previous webmaster, so I purchased another license for the X theme, and registered it. I have assigned the license to a production version of the site and a staging version of the site.
I still can’t update the theme, I get an error message of
“An error occurred while updating X: Update package not available”
My current version of the theme is 4.4.2 and I want to update it to 6.5.5.
I think that my X theme is validated, but I see the message “Validate X to enable automatic updates.”

How do I update my theme, and am I validated or not?

-Mike

I just manually updated the X theme, by switching to a default theme, deleting the old X theme, uploading the new X theme v6.5.6 and switching back to the X theme. The website looks good, and the X theme is now updated, but I still can’t validate it. I tried validating, and the old license information was there and it looked like it validated but it didn’t. Now when I go to the page to validate the X theme the page has changed and I see very large icons. see screenshot ->

How do I validate my theme?

Hello Mike,

Thanks for updating the thread.

Looking at the screenshot, please make sure that you are using latest version of WordPress 5.2.2. After that try to check the validation page.

In your case automatic update won’t work as your are using fairly old version of X Theme and you will have to manually update X Theme. Please take a look at following thread for more information:

Thanks.

Prasant, I already manually updated my X theme and I am running version 6.5.6.
I now have the validation screen as seen in the screenshot with the large icons.
How do I validate my theme?
What is wrong?

Does something on your end show that I am using version 4.6.4?
My website says it is using version 6.5.6.
I am concerned because your note indicated that you saw that I updated the thread (where I show my version is 6.5.6) and yet your answer says that I am using version 4.6.4.

Can this issue be caused by an old license being registered for the website?
The person who setup the website and probably registered it is totally unavailable.
I bought a new license because I needed to update the theme.

I really need to get this issue fixed before I can finish the website, I hope that you don’t delay me by another 24 hours.

Hello Mike,

Thanks for updating the thread.

The main website http://planboulder.org/ is using old version of X Theme 4.4.2 and Cornerstone 1.2.4. However, http://testourboulder.dreamhosters.com/ is using X Theme 6.5.6. Having said that the same website is still using old version of Cornerstone 1.2.4 which is incompatible and will cause issues.

In that regards I would first suggest you to manually update Cornerstone and then try to validate X Theme. In case you still face any issues while validating, please share website login details in secure note for us to take a closer look.

Thanks.

I just manually installed the Cornerstone plugin and everything seems to be working now.

Glad to hear that.
