Error with preload on cornerstone

Oh dear, this happen again! I did like you told me last time clear cash update permalinks but still nothing works. Also there is no PHP error.

why is this happen always and then goes again? except now it is not leaving and I cannot translate the page and work with cornerstone.

Can you check for me again?

In the mean time I also check all the plugins there is no conflict . so don’t know really what to do anymore. Thanks for helping sorting this out I have a ton of posts to translate

in your experience would it be better to deinstall Polylang and use WPML?

If I do so I am guessing that I will loos all translation already done?? I really need this to work and cannot very time I like to make a translation having this problem

Hi Corina,

I have visited your website and found that the Cornerstone is loading perfectly for the pages. I have tried Edit with Cornerstone from Page List, every time the builder loads with the page and the content it has.

Can you please check once by clearing all the cache, and in incognito or private mode of browser. Please let us know if the issue still exists at your end.

Hello Corina,

I checked your post in edit mode and it is working fine at my end and the builder is loading properly. Please purge all the cache and clear your browser cache then check it again. It would be best if you could check it in the private mode of the browser.

Please have a look at the given screenshot in the secure note. If the issue still persists please let us know.

this is the one that is already translated and worked it is online , again I have mentioned this before. t is the next one BOBOsco ( not online yet) or basically any English post you like to take and click translate is not working.

The one you clicked it already online and done.

And I have punched all each already .

I would really appreciate some constructive help please? Your last 2 answers where waisted as you checked what I told you is working but not what isn’t. therefore 6h of no help just because the wrong thing has ben checked is frustrating .

Please can someone actually check the link I send last and you will see the cornerstone preview is not loading on ANY post that is NOT online yet that need to be translated .

Hi Corina,

I have checked the given post by following your instructions and found it loaded into the Cornerstone. Can you please check once again and let us know if the issue still exists.

Please note that the content added or edited through the Block or Gutenberg editor is not editable in the Cornerstone editor and vice-versa. That’s why the edited content is not showing in the Cornerstone.

hi, I am sooooo confused

I clicked on the link and it worked. So I wanted to make sure all others are working as well, and again the SAME problem exists.
Even if I click classic edit!!
I am clearly making somewhere a massive mistake, but I cannot find where.

would you mind to talk me throught from an English post how you click to get to the cornerstone open page and ready to translate??

I am not sure where I am making the mistake. I can see that on some English posts it says BLOCK edit. but when I then click classic edit, it still goes back to block edit???

Do you know what I mean?

ok the only way it works and the preview opens is when the post I have to translate is LIVE ONLINE.
If I click draft , to edit and translate the post, again I cannot load it is cornerstone??? Is this Normal ???Thanks

Example in the screen shot.
from the English post I clicked the + to make translation
I was able to change the Titel, but nothing more?? When I then clicked edit with cornerstone, the same error message happen (no preload possible)
although as you can see it is in Classic mode??

But what is confusing is already has taken the SOCIAL shares of 91 which are the pins shared from the English posts. is that normal ?? should the German post not be an alone post with new share statistics?

Hello Corina,

The page or a post needs to be published and not in draft mode so that it will load in the Cornerstone builder preview. And clicking the “+” link button to make the translation is not the correct way of doing the translation. You will have to open the page in Cornerstone and use the language switcher that comes with the page builder. Please check out the documentation here instead:

I am not using WPML I am using polylang therefore your link is not helping, sorry.
I know that the default language needs to be ONLINE )Published, but why dose the new language also needs to be online - Published to be translated, surely it should work by being in default, and when the translation is done (manually) I should click publish, right?

But there is the problem cornerstone is not loading the preview of the new language unless it is published.

And in all tutorials of Polylang it says to translate the default page press the + sign of the dedicated language. which brings it to the first stage where I can translate the all. meta description and the title, but when I then click Edit in cornerstone the ERROR message which is attached to the top of this thread is showing and the page cannot be loaded.

If I although publish the NOT translated page from the site where I change the meta and titel and then click edit in cornerstone it is loading.

Hi Corina,

As my colleague says that, the Cornerstone will load the page once it is published not in draft mode. I would suggest you publish the second languages and then load it in Cornerstone.

I had the same error for maybe a month, using workarounds to continue editing my site. Once I got around to working on it, I couldn’t figure out how to open a ticket with Theme.co, so I was on my own.

I started by deactivating all back-end plugins, plugins that had no impact on the user interface. That did it. Eventually, editing through Cornerstone started to work without error. There was a conflict with the plugin Insert Pages. I was able to get through to them, but they were hampered from analyzing it somehow (can’t remember exactly what).

On the last update of Cornerstone to v5.3.3, I tried reactivating the other plugin. Poof, it worked. Hope it works out for you.
