Entire Pages Getting Erased

Definitely not a pro website guru, but in previous versions of this theme i was able to load in a template, clone/copy the pages, rename them and change their links, and those cloned pages would remain after i switched and loaded in a different one of your template . I like to load several themes from your library into a website, so i can mix and match which ones i want to use and customize. See, it is MUCH easier for me to learn from looking at your pre-made template themes within X-Theme than it is to try to create complex pages from scratch.

SO, my question is this: Why is the theme now erasing all pages when changing to new template (IE from Agency to App, or from Lawyer to Auto Garage)? The message we get when switching templates within X-Theme literally says: “Installing site (demo content) will not alter any of your pages or posts, but will overwrite your theme options.” SO why are pages that are not even in the menu yet, or not being used, or copies of pages all being erased each time? It did not work like this until the most recent update.

PS: you need to update many of your YouTube videos, as they all deal with much different versions of X-Theme and Cornerstone.

Thanks for writing in! I am seeing an older version installed in your sites. Could you please update to the latest versions?
Our latest versions are:

  • X theme 7.2.2
  • Cornerstone 4.2.2

This latest release contains fixes for several issues so be sure to check out the changelog (http://theme.co/changelog/).

After doing the updates, always remember to clear all caches (if you are using WP Rocket, WP SuperCache or W3 Total Cache) when updating so that the code from the latest release is always in use. This will help you to avoid any potential errors.

i JUST installed the new Pro upgrade in the last 48 hours – while i see version 7.2.2 is available, i do not have the option to update from 7.2.1

The demo content now is part of Design Cloud and you can install it as sites. For more information:

Please consider that you can not mix and match the whole websites, as the Theme Options might be different when it comes to the whole site. But you can use parts of the pages if you want.

The only important problem is that if for example Agency site has a page called home and App site also has a page called home it will be re-written. You need to rename the page to something else to make sure it is not re-written, for example agency home.

I am not sure about the updated version, you can use the normal updating process to update the theme to version 7.2.2:

I did get the update to 7.2.2 – it was the cache. Nevertheless, the same issue persists. Yes, theme cloud is where i am getting the templates from. And as stated in my original post comment, I DO rename them, as that SHOULD prevent them from getting erased when loading in new template; but it does not. That IS the whole point of the post comment in the first place. I change both the page name and the URL link, and often make two or three copies/clones of it, but each time they all get erased by the change of theme.
