Email Forms Plugin - Critical Error

Hi guys,

Getting the same error as this thread - X theme - Email Form plugin - critical error message July 2022 when adding a new form.

I checked the php version, it’s 7.4:

cpsrvd 11.102.0.21
Database client version: libmysql - mysqlnd 7.4.30
PHP extension: mysqliDocumentation curlDocumentation mbstringDocumentation
PHP version: 7.4.30

Any thoughts?

Hello @kcreative,

I checked your site it seems that your site is working fine at my end. I would suggest you please clear your browser cache and then check it or check it in the private mode of the browser.

The error comes when you try to add New Form -> https://prnt.sc/K0efyf_XSfLy from the Email Forms plugin. Wordpress also sends an email with the error - attached below.

I followed the steps that you mentioned and I could replicate the error on my end. I went ahead and checked your setting it seems that you are using PHP version 8.0.16. I would suggest please make sure your theme, WordPress, Plugin, and the PHP version(7.4) are updated as per our version compatibility page.

Hm, the server settings were different, will check with the hosting.

By the way, 7.4 has only two more months of security support, isn’t time to adjust the Theme to a higher PHP version - https://www.php.net/supported-versions.php

Hello @kcreative,

We will be releasing a theme update that will be PHP8.0 compatible. It is already in beta stage. With regards to your critical error issue, it is cause by the Email Forms plugin. Our developers are also working out for an update on this plugin too. We just do not have an ETA yet on when it can be release.
