Dynamic Content Menu (Pro)

Hi,

I am creating a header. A navigation menu in the top bar is of contexts.

I would like the second menu, at the bottom of the header, to dynamically switch to a context-dependent menu.
For instance, the top menu may have selections for “one”, “two”, and “three”. I would like the ability to render the menu “three” when the “three” menu selection is made.

I don’t see a way to make this happen out of the box. Thoughts?

Thanks!

Hey Dave,

Yes, desktop and mobile navigations are not combined in Pro so that you’ll be able to control them individually.

Basically, you’d need to hide your desktop navigation using the Hide During Breakpoints feauture.

You’d then set up the mobile menu like shown in the video below:

Hah, my bad. When I talk of contexts, I was not referring to desktop/mobile. Rather it was topic areas within the website. Let me approach this another way.

Better expressed: I want an ACF field, stored on a page, to dynamically set the menu to be displayed on the header. (With the same header used on all pages.) In my mind I am thinking of the ability to use {{dc:acf:post_field field=“menuselect”}} in the Menu field in the Setup section (using Nav Inine) in the header.

I think that’s more accurate for what I am looking for.

Thanks!

Hello Dave,

It is best that you set up the ACF field on your pages. Once everything is set, we can explore how we can implement what you have in mind Page Navigation. If possible, you can also send us an example URL so that we will have an idea how we can suggest a potential solution to your page dynamic navigation menu.

Best Regards.
