Dc:post:title SEO bug

Hi there,

I’m using a global block for all my page headings (h1) and fill them dynamically by using “dc:post:title”. However, when inspecting the SEO description located in the head, it grabs the latest post title instead of the title of the current page, unless we add a custom description. Unfortunately, we don’t always add this and additionally, Google doesn’t always accept those. Therefore, it is of major importance that the data is at least correct.

Hi @Hindrik,

Thank you for reaching out to us. I tried to replicate the issue locally but i’m not able to replicate the problem. I created a global block and used {{dc:post:title}} shortcode in the Headline element to populate the page titles. I created a new page with no description and text and added only the Global Block. The page title in the <head> section was same as the Global Block.

Can you confirm that you are fully updated? (Theme and Plugins)

You can find the latest version numbers here: (https://theme.co/docs/version-compatibility) Then you can compare them to what’s installed on your site.

If you find anything to be out of date, you can review our update guide.

If the issue persists then please get back to us with the URL/User/Pass of your WordPress dashboard using the Secure Note functionality of the post to follow up the case.

Thanks!

Hi Nabeel,

Thank you for your quick response. The page title is actually correct, it’s the meta title in Yoast that grabs the title of the first post instead of the title of the page. I’m not sure if this is related to Themeco or Yoast, but I will also contact them.

In terms of updates, everything is updated.

Hi Hindrik,

I can’t replicate the issue on my end as well since you’re using Yoast please navigate to Theme Options > Social and turn OFF the Enable Open Graph option.

If the issue persists, please do a Testing for Plugin Conflict.

Thanks,

Hi there Friech,

That option is already disabled, so it is not a conflict between the theme and an plug-in. I do see that this seems more related to Yoast SEO, but I’m not sure whether they are familiar with dynamics fields as they are unique to Themeco (right?)

Hi @Hindrik,

You are correct that Dynamic Content fields are unique to our themes and nothing to do with Yoast Seo plugin. Opengraph are based on post data, like title and excerpt. And it has no relation with any of the builder feature.
As you have already recognized that this is more related to the Yoast Seo plugin, I would suggest you contact their support.

Thanks
