Custom search results in Pro

I’ve reviewed several forum posts about creating custom search results in Pro. Unfortunately these forum posts aren’t very straight forward and I have made no progress.

Child version of search results in Pro?

do you have documentation on how to create a child theme version of the search results? basically, I need to replace the_title() in the search results template with relevanssi_the_title() and i don’t want the change to be overwritten when I update. Thanks

Search result page customization

There are tons of post and request in this forum about this specific “search results” page customization but never an answer or any walkthrough or recipe to make this happen. Most of the clients of X are not developers and to custom-create php pages is very difficult and/or not possible. X together with Cornerstone provide great tools to fast page building but this specific module never completed. Questions: The X theme upgrade with Pro give any solution with this problem? Anybody ever has a…

Can someone point me in the right direction? This capability isn’t well documented. I don’t understand why it’s so difficult.

Update: I was able to create an archive template (search-results) which is being pulled in to the search results. But actual results aren’t being displayed. I’m guessing I need to incorporate a looper provider and a looper consumer or something.

I was able to hobble something together. I’ll be making refinements to dial in the layout/look-and-feel.

I think there’s one last thing. Before I configured my template for search results I was seeing pagination for search results. I’m not currently seeing that. The results max out at 10 with no pagination for additional results. How do I restore pagination to my results?

Hey @brocknessmonster,

You just simply edit the custom Search archive layout and add a Post Pagination element as sown below:

And you will have something like this as a result:
