Custom grid with looper for WooCommerce products

Hi there! This is probably something really straightforward that I’m missing.

I have a custom layout for my product pages. At the bottom of each product page I want to show a ‘related products’ grid, but I want to use my own from the Grid element, not the defualt WooCommerce element. I set the grid as the looper provider and tried dropping in [related_products max_count=”4″] but nothing. I thought maybe Current Post Terms would help me but it just shows the same product. What am I missing? Thanks!

For further reference, as per previous threads I have tried the following query string for a related products looper:

category_name={{dc:term:slug}}&post_type=product&posts_per_page=3&offset=0&ignore_sticky_posts=1&post__not_in%5B0%5D={{dc:post:id}}

But no joy…
