Custom Fonts not showing up, Font Manager not previewing, .woff file unacceptable

hello, I did take a look at a couple of the other threads, but I still could not resolve my issue.

I had a custom font uploaded and working for a couple years, and only recently, when themes and plugins were updated, my custom font stopped showing up.
In the Custom Fonts section, it says that the recommended file type is .woff or .woff2 file format, so I had converted my .ttf file format to .woff, but when I upload that file, it says “Sorry, this file type is not permitted for security reasons.”

I’m using X/Cornerstone builder, and when using the Fonts, my Custom Font .ttf file is still uploaded but the preview for the font is not working.

My issue is similar to this one, where my font should be a san serif font, but displaying a serif font.

I tried changing the settings to change http vs https (though, I am not knowledgeable in this area, and don’t understand the difference and whether I did it correctly or not.)
It was originally… WP Address: http…, and Site Address: http… but I changed it to https…
but I didn’t notice any difference.

Please help!

Thanks in advance.

Hello @isvcan,

Thanks for writing to us.

I checked your site it seems that the URLs are not fully replaced while moving the site from HTTP to HTTPS and that causes the Mixed Content issue [ HTTP and HTTPS ] blocking to load the Font files. Please have a look at the screenshot in the secure note.

I would suggest you replace the URL properly and check this again, there are many URL replacement Plugins available in WordPress which help you to replace the URL.
This article will be helpful in this:https://www.wpbeginner.com/plugins/how-to-update-urls-when-moving-your-wordpress-site/

In case if you are doing by using the plugin you can search for old URL and replace it with the new URL that is with HTTPS

For example, Search http://your-domain-name.com and replace it with https://your-domain-name.com

Also, remember that the exact URL should be mentioned in Setting > General, WordPress Address and Site URL, including the protocol i.e HTTP/HTTPS.

In case if it doesn’t work for you, please share your details in a secure note. Please provide the following details

  • WordPress Login URL
  • Admin level username and password

You can find the Secure Note button at the bottom of your posts

Hope this helps.
Thanks

Hi there,
thank you so much for your response.
I installed and activated the Velvet Blues Update URLs plugin and used old site http://… and replaced with new site https://…

This was the result…
Success! Your URLs have been updated.

Results
532 Content Items (Posts, Pages, Custom Post Types, Revisions)
0 Excerpts
0 Links
245 Attachments
105 Custom Fields

I also went to Setting > General , WordPress Address and Site URL
and made both WordPress Address and Site Address the same. https://…

However the font still does not show up. Does it need more time? Or should it be an instant change?

Please help.

I updated the Cornerstone plugin and did some more updates and I was now able to upload the .woff font files to custom font manager, and now the font is now showing up (though, only the heavy/bold one is applied to all text, even the body/paragraph text, when it should be regular style), as well as icons, and buttons have now re-appeared!

Thanks

Hey @isvcan,

It’s bold because you used the heavy version of your custom font. Though the Template Manager font weight is 400, it won’t take effect as the font used is bold. Please set up the font again using the light version

Thanks.

Ok, I figured it out now. Thanks for your help!
