Custom fonts just not working

Hi

I can’t get the custom fonts to work in this site. The font family is Helvetica Neue, a Monotype font from fonts.com.

I’ve added the fonts to the server, the css to the global css page. Also installed them and set them up using the font manager. I’ve specified the font in every place I can find in the Theme options. It looks like it should all be working but it’s just not. Can you advise please?

Hello Keith,

Thanks for writing to us.

It might be the issue of cache or any plugin conflict because font styles are overriding by any plugin styles or maybe custom CSS/JS. If you have not seen our doc, please have a look at it.

I would suggest you troubleshoot with a few of the common issues before we investigate your settings.

  1. Testing for Plugin Conflict
  2. CSS/JS Customization
  3. Version Compatibility
  4. Disabling Cache

If it doesn’t work for you, please share your details in a secure note. Please provide the following details

  • WordPress Login URL
  • Admin level username and password

You can find the Secure Note button at the bottom of your posts

Thanks

Hi Prakash
Thanks for responding. I’ve checked all those points. There are no plugins on the site, no custom CSS or Javascript, all versions are the latest and all caching is disabled and purged. The issue still remains, I am out of ideas now. I’ve added a secure note for your user account.
I would really appreciate your experience on this. Anything you can find or suggest will be welcome. Thanks

All the best
Keith

Hello @KeithatStorm,

You are experiencing this because there is a CORS or Cross-Origin Resource Sharing issue on your site.

This happens when you uploaded the font files using http and then you have updated the SSL. To get this resolve, please install Search and Replace plugin. You will have to search for: http://madebyjames.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/ and replace it with: https://madebyjames.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/.

Kindly let us know how it goes.

Hi Ruenel
Thanks for that info. I tried that solution but the plug-in didn’t find anything. I decided to go mediaeval on it; I recreated all the web fonts, deleted all the files on the server and re-installed Wordpress, X-Pro theme and the fonts, and now it seems to be working again. Thank you for pointing me in the right direction. I really appreciate your support.

All the best
Keith
