CS Forms Email Action Question - Reply To Option

Hi Charlie,

I use WP Mail SMTP as my sending SMTP tool. I have a question about the Email Action in CS Forms. The “From” field - does this have any relevance to SMTP, or can it contain the sender’s email address from the data fields?

The reason for asking is if I receive an email from the website in Microsoft Outlook and use the “Reply” button, I want my response to go directly to the website enquirer, without falling foul of SPF / DKIM checks. Usually, I would expect to see a “Reply To” field option.

Is this a potential missing feature, or is it safe to use the “From” field with the enquirer’s email address?

Thanks,
Christopher

You can add a reply-to header with the sender’s email address entered into the form:

In Outlook, you will then need to reply-to-all, as far as I know.

It isn’t obvious you can do this, but striata is right you can add a custom header for this. We can add controls for this similar to the other email sender fields. Have a great day.

Thanks to both @striata and @charlie. Very helpful information, thank you! Look forward to seeing it go native.

Feature is live in 1.0.2
