Creating an interactive box - Best element? Custom?

Dear all, I am trying to get the same effect as seen in this website https://stayland.com/
Please see section “Our Companies”, hover a company and see that a picture is revealed while the branding remains as a link to wherever.

What is the best element to get this with minimum coding? I played around with CTA and Card, but I am stuck far from the desired effect. Thank you in advance.

See what happens as moving around the companies, hovering makes the effect jump from box to box.

Thanks for reaching out.
What you are expecting is required customization and that is beyond the scope of Theme Support, I would suggest you hire a developer who can assist you to do the customization or you can avail of our newly launched service called One, where we answer the questions beyond normal theme support.
Alternatively, you can try by using the Effect Module* to set the Interaction effect into the Image and other elements. I would suggest you go through the following article, especially the interaction section.

Not very sure about using Effects, though.
I solved it old school way, adapting this example.
Does exactly what I was looking for.
